Massage After an Auto Accident
Therapeutic massage in Eugene, Oregon, billed directly to your auto insurance.
If you’ve been in a car accident, I’m so sorry. Even a small collision can leave your body sore, stiff and shaken up, and it can be hard to know where to start with getting care. I would like to make that part easier for you.
Why care after an accident matters
In an accident, your body braces and absorbs a lot of force in a very short moment. Muscles and fascia (the connective tissue that wraps everything in the body) tighten to protect you, and they don’t always let go on their own afterward. People often feel mostly fine at first, and then the neck pain, headaches, back pain or stiffness show up days or even weeks later.
I believe the sooner the body gets support, the easier it is for it to recover. Massage can help ease muscle tension and guarding, support circulation to the areas that are healing, and help you move more comfortably again. In my experience, when those holding patterns are left alone, they can settle in and become the aches people are still dealing with years later. Caring for your body early gives it a better chance to heal well.
How insurance works
I bill your auto insurance directly. In Oregon, auto insurance policies include Personal Injury Protection (PIP), which pays for medical care after an accident no matter who was at fault.
Some insurance companies require a referral from a doctor or chiropractor, and others do not. The easiest thing is to contact me first, and I can help you find out what your insurance needs.
My experience
I have been a massage therapist for 25 years. The first 8 of those years were spent working in clinical settings such as chiropractic offices, where caring for people after auto accidents was a big part of the work. Since then, I have continued to see my own clients through their recovery after accidents.
Each session is shaped around what your body needs that day. I work with the body and don’t force it, which matters even more when it has just been through something hard.
